"Recently I had a private conference with Larry which was one of my wisest marketing investments. He diligently reviewed the materials I sent him before our call. Whether it came to him naturally (my suspicion) or he had to work hard to get there he literally came up with several “big picture” alternative business plans for me that he shared in the first half hour of our conference.
For example he talked about selling a portion of my practice, something that I was not thinking about but might be a great idea. Another “big picture” idea was his response to my listed goal of adding $1M/week to assets under management. Larry said that was easy. Just do a seminar a week. That seems so basic, but frankly it makes a lot of sense to me and should to many advisors. Of course this advice may not apply to everyone and I will likely not have that many seminars, but even getting the perspective was illuminating.
